What can a professional organizer do for me?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, I can provide the support and encouragement and hands-on help you need to get started.

Working with your individual needs and strengths in mind, I'll offer suggestions and choices in helping find solutions for you to be more productive, work more efficiently, reduce stress, simplify your life, locate items in minutes, and save money.

Since organizing is a continuous process, I will also help you develop the habits and tools to keep your space maintained. When I assist you with your project, it will get done faster and better -- and it will be much more fun than trying to do it by yourself.

Will I have to throw my things away?

The decision is always yours. What I will do is keep your organization goals in focus so that you can make decisions that support your priorities.

Sometimes it's possible to obtain your goals without getting rid of much and by better utilizing the space you have. But more often than not, clients are ready to part with some belongings and make a fresh start.

What if I’m too embarrassed to have anyone come into my home?

Everyone has their own reasons for needing an organizer. For some, it’s that they have never learned the skills they need to be organized.

As a professional organizer for more than 20 years, I’ve seen all sorts of organizing challenges, some requiring more time and effort than others. You can expect me to be non-judgmental about your situation, and I maintain strict confidentiality about my clients. 

How long will it take to get organized?

The length of each session will depend on what service options you choose. The duration of the project will depend on the size of your space, the items to be organized, your decision-making processes, how much of the work you would like to do on your own, and the details required to implement the processes and systems.

What do I do before the organizer comes?

Put aside any worries about the need to justify your situation. My role is to provide advice and assistance, not to make judgments.Remind yourself of what it is you want to change and what you wish to accomplish with me.

I do strongly encourage you to arrange for childcare, pet care, incoming phone calls, visitors, etc., so that we can focus with minimal distractions or interruptions to make the best use of our time together.

Nationwide, professional organizers charge between $25 - $500/hour.  I offer several different rates for organizing services, and I’ll be happy to discuss them with you.

How can I afford an organizer?

A better question would be, "Can I afford not to get organized?"

By working with me to help you get organized, your initial investment will be regained many times over in the time, money and energy you save on late fees, duplicate purchases, searching for lost papers, missed appointments and other situations that add to the cost of being disorganized.
